Sharing my expat life, experiences, cats and hobbies with you, one story, recipe or step by step guide at a time.

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog and being curious enough to look at my ‘about me’ page. I’m Emme, an expat who lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands with a accent that frequently sounds confused. I have a passion for cats and baking, preferably not putting the two together. My life is an adventure on a blow up raft, sometimes the water is calm and sometimes I lose a paddle or the air comes out of the raft.
Despite how infrequently I blog and the state of my blog at times, I have actually been blogging for over 15 years. I’m always quite hesitant to say that Im a blogger, mostly because Im so bad at it.
I have two PPPs (pampered pedigree princesses), Callie and Penny. They are European Maine Coons who provide me with laughter, entertainment and mess, a lot of mess to clean up. They have no idea what it is to be a cat. They both have traits which remind me of myself, from stubbornness and a dislike of any change to being ready for adventures but only after naps. Callie would prefer to be an only child and Penny would prefer to have several more friends to be her look outs when shes on adventures.
Im lucky enough to have been able to live in several countries and I am now call the Netherlands home. Ive lived in the Netherlands for 7 years, where does time go? Every country has its pros and cons and the Netherlands is no different. I enjoy living in the suburbs of Amsterdam, having access to a large park a stones throw from my house and not being surrounded by tourists.
I work in the corporate world Monday to Friday. In my spare time I visit museums, bake, DIY and occasionally volunteer. Oh yes and blog, sometimes I blog!
I have unique opinions, a very dark dry sense of humour, am silly and swear, a lot. I am 100% Dory (Finding Nemo) in the human form. I also love a good meme.
I hope my blog gives you ideas, inspiration and laughter along the way.
