Half way into 2024

At the end of every year and then the beginning of the next year, I always say to myself, I must blog more! If I blogged as frequently as I thought about blogging, I would have at least one post a month. Sadly I see something shiney and then minutes, hours, days later I think to myself, ‘I’m sure I was doing something else….’.

This year has been….. a lot. I love the quiet life, don’t get me wrong and I am absolutely a person who requires routine and habit. Despite this, this yeas has been a lot of uncertainty, change and ‘watch this space’. Im hoping the second half of the year is more boring, settled and less w t f….

The cats continue to provide me with entertainment…. and keep me busy. Penny continues to live her life as big adventure, going from one adventure to the next. All whilst I worry about her heart murmur and am not sure if shes trying to kill herself or me. We now have a version of kitty prison on the balcony to stop her from exploring the neighbours roofs, windows/homes and gardens… She is pure sass and I can understand why Callie misses the single child life at times. Callie continues to tolerate her, whilst Penny loves Callie and would be devastated if she was not around.

DIY, I’ve had a few successful projects that felt terribly unsuccessful at the time. However my determination and need to do things on my own, always wins out to get the project done. Im looking forward to my nails being able to grow out again, rather than constantly breaking them with whatever DIY project at the time.

I did manage a holiday, however, as with anything in my life, it was not without incident. Terrible, horrific, grateful I was on my own for no one else to witness the vileness of the food poisoning that I had. Nothing quite kills a holiday like severe, wishing for death food poisoning….

I continue to cook and bake. Ive attempted to take on bread and bagels, so far no successes but many lessons learnt. I joined a work baking competition and learnt that I prefer baking on my own without the help of others (sounds a bit like my DIY).

As I sit here in 3 layers, under a blanket and the heating on, I do look forward to either summer or global warming, which ever comes soonest.
